Bleach or De-tan: What Is the Difference?

Bleach lightens the colour of fine facial hair so it blends with your skin. It does not remove hair, and it works best for soft, light hair on the upper lip, cheeks or sides of the face. If your hair is thick or dark, threading or Rica face wax is usually the better choice.

When to Book, and How Often

Tan builds fastest in Chandigarh from April to June, when the sun is harsh and the air is dry. A face de-tan every two to three weeks in these months stops tan from settling in. In the monsoon, humidity makes skin feel sticky, so a quick de-tan clean-up feels light and fresh.

Face bleach is best kept to once every four to six weeks. Doing it too often can leave skin dry or irritated. Before an event, book bleach or de-tan two to three days ahead rather than on the morning itself.

Safety and Aftercare

Skip bleach on broken skin, fresh pimples, sunburn, or an area that was waxed or threaded the same day. Let us know about any skin treatments or creams you use — we may suggest waiting. A mild tingle for a minute is normal; burning is not, and we take the pack off straight away if you feel it.

Afterwards, avoid sun, swimming pools and hot showers for the rest of the day. Use a gentle moisturiser and sunscreen, and hold off on scrubs for 24 hours. Hard water in some areas leaves skin tight, so a light moisturiser after every wash keeps the results looking fresh for longer.
