Teej mehndi at home: designs and timing

Mehndi is the heart of Teej. Our mehndi artists can do quick Arabic designs, full hands front and back, or fuller designs with swings, peacocks and Sawan motifs for the newly-wed. Apply it a day or two before Teej so the colour is at its deepest on the festival.

Monsoon humidity can slow down drying, so sit under a fan, not near a cooler or open window, and keep the mehndi on for a few hours. Get a manicure and pedicure a few days before, so cuticles are neat but the skin is not freshly scrubbed when the mehndi goes on.

Humidity-proof makeup for the Chandigarh monsoon

July and August in Chandigarh are sticky, with sudden showers. Our artists use a thin base, a primer suited to oily skin and waterproof products around the eyes, and set the face lightly so it does not look powdery. A long-stay lip means fewer touch-ups between songs and swings.

Group bookings for Teeyan and ladies' get-togethers

Teej is a group festival, and many of our bookings are for sisters, neighbours or a kitty group in one house. We can send more than one mehndi artist so the whole group is done in good time.
