First Lohri makeup for brides and new mothers

For a new bride, the first Lohri at her in-laws' home is often the first big family function after the wedding. We keep the look close to bridal but lighter, so you look festive without feeling dressed up for a reception. Looks are planned by our founder Rekha Singh and her team of makeup artists.

For a new mother, we keep the session short and work around the baby's routine. Tell us when you need to feed or rest, and the artist will plan around it. We bring everything, sanitise our tools and use fresh disposables for every client.

Lohri makeup tips for a cold Chandigarh night

January nights in Chandigarh are foggy and cold, and skin feels tight and dry. Our artists prep with a rich moisturiser, use cream products over heavy powder and keep a lip balm under the lipstick so lips do not crack. Waterproof kajal and mascara help when cold air makes the eyes water.

Near the bonfire, the heat can make the base feel heavy, so stand back a little and blot instead of adding more powder. Plan your shawl too: if it will cover the neckline most of the evening, focus the look on the eyes and lips.

Phulkari, Patiala suits and parandi braids

A phulkari dupatta is busy and bright, so the face looks best with one strong point, either the eyes or the lips. Our hairstyling team can do a parandi braid, a low bun with gajra, or soft curls that stay neat under a dupatta. Add mehndi a day before and the look is complete.
