How Often, and How to Prepare

For a clean result, hair should be roughly a quarter of an inch long — about two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Most people book waxing every three to five weeks. With regular waxing, many find that regrowth starts to feel softer, though this differs from person to person.

On the day, take a shower, skip body oil and heavy lotion, and wear loose clothes. Do not wax sunburnt skin, or skin that had a de-tan or scrub in the last day or two. Keep a chair, a plug point for the heater and some space near good light ready. In sticky monsoon weather we may use a little extra powder so the wax grips well.

After-Wax Care and the Hygiene We Follow

For 24 hours after waxing, avoid hot showers, the gym, swimming pools and direct sun. Skip deodorant on freshly waxed underarms for a few hours. From the third day, a gentle scrub twice a week helps prevent ingrown hair. Keep the skin moisturised, especially in the dry Chandigarh winter.
